RAISE IT UP

 

Playing around with the camera in the back yard, I shot this on my brothers skate ramp. He is an Artist and did his first large piece this past summer at a secret skate spot on Mt. Baldy. While my mom and I were in NY visiting,  he and my dad did a skate/art trip. He had to hike way out to a full pipe where lots of Graffiti artists paint and skate, he did his mural the last day. I love it and wanted to share it with all of you. Emmett turned 16 in January so this is just the beginning for him.

 Here is a sampling of what we have so far, don't worry we have more to shoot and will update soon. We will be featuring both newer and vintage clothing pieces we think you might like. The start of what we have is from newer designers and pieces that we have purchased but never saw the light of day. We are both avid collectors of both new and vintage clothing which started for me back in the 80's when I started to purchase Comme Des Garcon and other Japanese designers.

Camilla and I were taking pictures for a shopping blog we are starting and thought it would be fun to shoot her in the cute new dress she was wearing with the roses I got for Valentines. The dress is from LF boutique, by the brand Millau and her boots are Jeffery Campbell. We also added my jacket by Millau again from LF. What we ended up with? Well, a feeling of "la vie en rose."

Band of Outsiders and Off To the Slopes.

Wow, We absolutely Love Scott Sternberg’s "highly stylized" Boy by Band of Outsiders Fall Line. He had Fake snow, Parking meters, old suitcases and A vintage Jaguar. Best of all he is LA based:) What can we say, after reading his muse was writer Joan Didion, vintage REI socks and ski wear we thought it a fitting post. As we are LA girls heading up to the mountains today for a bit of snowboarding. Can't wait to get in the mountain air and ride in all the new powder.  Hopefully we will have some powder left through the trees.  Style.com coined Sternberg's line by writing that "it gave off an Ice Storm vibe." We found some images from the Movie the "Ice Storm" based on Joan's book and some vintage ski bum pictures. 

We love the youthful fresh feel he brings out by the use of fur mixed with the Paisleys, Menswear Flannels and plaids along with the colorful ski sweater vibe.

I don't know about you but we get the feeling. And soon we will be living among the snow and trees then enjoying an Apres Ski.

Rag and Bone Layers of LOVE!

 

These men seriously know how to layer. It is an art to do it right and not look like a bag lady. Love the all the tweeds and menswear wools mixed with nubby sweaters and the plaids.

All you need is Love

 

This year for Valentines Day we found some inspirational images that make us happy and Fall in Love with All the Beauty that surrounds us every day. You just need to look between the sheets, so to speak.

The sketch was inspired by this and a young Ann Margret who is the epitome of sex and love.
